| Dir APFW chairs bankers meeting to discuss issues relating PMFBY | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 6: Director Agriculture Production and FW, Jammu, K.K. Sharma chaired a meeting of Bankers and Insurance companies at Krishi Bhawan Jammu to define strategies for implementation of the scheme for the season Kh.2022 and to dispose / redress the issues pertaining with Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) scheme.
Director Agriculture Jammu also apprised the house that claims of 51.4 crores have been finalized and disbursed among the 29000 claimants during the year 2021-22. All the bankers/insurance companies were directed to dispose off the bounce back claims which are likely to be 3.6 crores by 15th of July 2022. He also directed the bankers to deduct the insurance premimum from the farmers for current season Kharif 2022 before or by the cut off date i.e, 15.07.2022. Bankers were directed to confirm with the farmers about crop and area before the generation of premium slip. Likewise, Insurance companies were directed to make close liasioning with concern banks for early disposal and redressal of all the issues pertaining with the scheme and to distribute the Policy Document to the farmers whose crops has been insured.
JCCB Bank / Insurance Company (RGICL) were directed to clear all pending claims for early disposal and also furnish all the necessary logistics to operationalize the DBT. Banks were advised for inclusion of Addhar card on National Crop Insurance Portal of farmers as well as with their Bank A/c No. to avoid any duplication in release of subsidies.
I/C PMFBY Cell was directed to share Local Government directory with the bankers as well as Insurance company to avoid any confusion regarding finding the location of the fields for insurance. Chair ensured the bankers & insurance companies for every possible help to execute all the action with in time for maximum coverage and to stabilize the farmer's income.
