Shiv Sena protests over hike in LPG cylinders prices
7/6/2022 11:05:51 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 6: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit today lashed out at the government in the Centre for once again hiking the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 50 amidst the ever highest inflation era, breaking all the records.
Led by Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena J&K, the party activists assembled near Chhani Chowk and staged strong protest against the anti-people policies of the central government.
Talking to reporters, Sahni accused the BJP led Government at the Centre of using the whip of inflation instead of giving relief to the people by hiking the prices of LPG gas cylinders once again. He said that the prices of domestic gas cylinders have increased upto Rs 200 in the last one year.
"Under BJP regime, the prices of LPG cylinders have increased by two and half times. The Modi government has hit the poor and middle class by abolishing the gas subsidy. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, free gas connections were issued by the central government to the poor, the time has come to surrender," he said.
Sahni asserted that those distributing free gas cylinders and ration are making the country cry with tears of inflation. He said that BJP Government is constantly setting new records in inflation. "Those who showed dream of 'Acche Din' are even making the essential commodities costly for the general public," he said.
"In the era of unbridled inflation, recession and rising unemployment, the public was expecting relief and cash assistance from the government, but the people are constantly being whipped for increasing the prices of essential commodities," Sahni said.
Sahni stated that the income of the people has increased while the prices of all the essential commodities have doubled. He demanded from the Prime Minister to ensure cash assistance to each family every month along with grassroots efforts to get rid of inflation.
Among others who were present during the protest include president mehila wing Meenakshi Chibber, Gen secretary Vikas Bakshi, President Kamghar wing Raj Singh Secretary Rajesh Handa,Parveen Gupta, Joint secretary Shahsi pal, Vikram Bali and many others were present.
