DDC holds public outreach programme at Surankote

POONCH, July 7: District Development Commissioner, Inderjeet conducted an extensive tour of sub division Surankote of Poonch district as part of routine public outreach programme.
He met BDC chairpersons, members of the District Development Council, representatives of NGOs, social workers, Sarpanchs and members of the public during the visit.
During the course of the daylong marathon interactive sessions, threadbare discussion was held with regard to the ongoing works of Jal Shakti, Public Works, Rural Development, PMGSY, Tourism and various other departments.
While reviewing the different sectors, the DDC directed the concerned departments to ensure that the grievances raised by the BDC Chairperson are disposed of without any delay besides asking to avoid unnecessary delays in making financial transactions to the PMAY beneficiaries for timely completion.
Several deputations raised issues which including those pertaining to electricity bills, blacktopping of road from Eidgah Hari Marote to Dodi, repair of Primary School Mundanar Marhote, encroachment of crematorium at Surankote, construction of drainage system at Middle School Samote, issue of road from Jogi Morh to TCP Surankote, construction of protection wall around Hari Marhote and Dodi Nallah, Dhundak to Marhote road among a plethora of others.
While reviewing the health sector, the DDC directed BMO Surankote to ensure deployment of ambulances and medical teams at the Eid Gah and prominent mosques of sub division Surankote.
The DDC also directed the XEN PWD (R&B) and AEE (R&B) PWD to look into the matter and to ensure installation of motors in coordination with the Mechanical Department. He further directed the District Social Welfare Officer Poonch to project the solar light plan to the higher authorities for approval so that solar light is provided to the nomadic families.
The meeting was attended by DDC Surankote, BDC Surankote, ACD Poonch, SDM Surankote, CMO Poonch, CEO Poonch, DSHO Poonch, Tehsildar Surankote, ExEn PWD, PHE, R&B, BMO Surankote, ARTO Poonch, SDPO Surankote, BMO Surankote, SDAO Surankote, besides other officers/officials of various departments were also present .
Later, the DDC attended another public outreach programme at the village Bathair Bair of panchayat halqa Fazalabad.
Public representatives and locals put forward their demands; providing road connectivity to Bair top, bringing Narayain Khor Ghupa under tourism map, filling of vacant posts at PHC Bair and repairing of PHC building. They also demanded improvement of mobile connectivity and inclusion of beneficiaries in BPL ration card list besides others.
