GMCH organises blood donation camp

JAMMU, July 7: The Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region, Airports Authority of India, Civil Enclave Jammu, Central Industry Security Force and Blood Transfusion Department, Govt. Medical College Hospital, Jammu jointly organized a blood donation drive on 6th July, 2022 at Civil Airport, Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary IRCS Jammu Region, Sanjeev Garg, Airport Director and R.S. Jamwal, Assistant Command, CISF. Around 40 donors including officials and staff of the CISF and Airport Authority of India, Jammu came in large number to be part of the blood donation campaign. The event saw enthusiastic participation. 
Sat Pal Sharma thanked all the officials of the Airport, CISF and donors for donating blood for this noble cause. He further encouraged and urged everyone to donate blood at regular intervals as blood donation is considered one of the best ways of helping the mankind. The camp was supervised by Vironica Marwah, Field Officer along with S.D Sharma Sub Inspector, CISF, Tejinder Kumar, PA to Airport Director and Ayushmaan Sharma, Terminal Manager, Jammu Airport. The Blood Donation camp was also graced by D.S. Daniel Dhanaraj, Commandant CISF, Jammu Airport. A team of PG Department of blood transfusion medicine GMC Jammu led by Dr. Salvi from blood transfusion Department and all the blood was handed over to them.
Besides this, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region has also organized a Blood Grouping Camp at Govt. College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Jammu and NSS Unit of GCW, Parade Ground,
Jammu on the eve of Shyama Prasad Mukhrjee’s Birth Anniversary in which 76 blood grouping of the NSS volunteers of GCW, Parade Ground, Jammu was conducted by a team of technicians of IRCS, Jammu Region under the able guidance of Sat Pal Sharma, Hony. Secretary, IRCS, Jammu Region.
