All set for North Zone Sainik school sports meet

JAMMU, July 10: The North Zone Inter Sainik Schools Sports and Cultural Meet-2022 is getting underway at Sainik School Nagrota from 10 to 16 July 22. In this edition, eight Sainik Schools representing their respective states located in the North Zone, namely Sainik School Ghorakhal (Uttrakhand), Sainik School Kunjpura and Rewari (Haryana), Sainik School Kapurthala (Punjab), Sainik School Sujanpur Tira (Himachal Pradesh), Sainik School Amethi & Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh) and the hosts Sainik School Nagrota (J&K) are taking part in this weeklong competition. This Zonal Championship will comprise of a wide range of games and literary competitions like Volleyball, Basketball, Hockey, Football (Sub-juniors as well as Juniors), Hindi and English Debates, Quiz and Dramatics.
Even as the participating contingents have started arriving at the host school, elaborate arrangements for the conduct of this tournament have been made by the school which presents a festive look with playfields brought up to remarkable standards. This mega event is scheduled to be formally inaugurated by one of the star alumni of the School Bhupinder Kumar IAS, Transport Commissioner, J&K at Maj Somnath Sharma (PVC) Stadium.
Under the vision and foresight of the Principal Captain (IN) AK Desai, the school campus reverberates "Change and Vibrancy" in every aspect and detail. The entire academic and administrative mechanism is pressed into service round the clock to execute diligent planning so as to make the event a spectacular success. The tournament will follow League cum Knock-out fixture to determine the Champion School in four different games which will represent North Zone in the upcoming Inter Zonal Championships at All India level.
The school administration has also made elaborate arrangements to accommodate and cater to the contingents from the participating schools. No doubt, this sporting extravaganza promises nail-biting action and thrill for sports enthusiasts right through the week.
