LG visits Nunwan camp, says Amarnath Yatra will resume soon | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, July 10: After convening a high-level meeting on Saturday evening to review relief and rescue operations, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday visited Nunwan camp and interacted with Yatries staying at the base camp. “Interacted with Yatris staying at the base camp. Reviewed the arrangements at healthcare facilities, langars. Providing better facilities to Pilgrims is our top priority”, Lieutenant Governor tweeted after visiting the camp. “Visited Nunwan, Pahalgam earlier today. Army, CAPFs, NDRF did a commendable job during the rescue and relief operation. Efforts are underway to repair the road. We are hopeful to resume the Yatra as soon as possible”, he further tweeted. Shri Amarnath ji Yatra was suspended on Friday after a devastating cloudburst hit the lower Amarnath cave, killing at least 16 people and injuring more than 40 people. Lieutenant Governor, while interacting with reporters said that efforts are being made to resume the Yatra as the restoration work on the route was going on. He said that the operation to repair the destroyed Yatra track is going on a war footing. “We are hopeful that debris accumulated on the track would be clearly very soon and track will be repaired”, he said and announced that after reviewing all arrangements including the security of the pilgrims, Yatra will be resumed”. Giving assurance of full security and all arrangements to the devotees, he welcomed the pilgrims from across the country. “Devotees are most welcome for Yatra. We will provide them with all necessary facilities”, he said. |
