Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 10: Natrang concluded its month-long Summer Theatre Workshop for Children-2022 with an impressive performance of 'Pollution Ka Solution', a new play in Hindi at Police Auditorium. The play was brilliantly written and directed by Sumeet Sharma who has been doing meaningful theatre with children consistently for the last nineteen years and has inspired hundreds of children to enhance their personalities through theatre. Sheetal Nanda, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary, Department of Social Welfare, JKUT presided over the function who lauded Natrang's efforts in bringing cultural and intellectual vivacity in the region. She also appreciated the concept and style of the play and suggested more performances of the same to spread the message of cleanliness under Swachh Bharat Mission. Appreciating the wonderful performance by children, she acknowledged the importance of theatre in shaping the overall personalities.
At the very outset, in his video address streamed from Mauritius, Balwant Thakur dwelt in detail about Natrang's children theatre initiative in Jammu which almost revolutionized the theatre scene of Jammu. Advocating the importance of theatre in transforming personalities, he stressed on the dire need of introducing theatre as a compulsory subject in schools. He thanked exclusively Mukesh Singh ADGP and Natrang promoters in supporting this mission aimed at the larger welfare of the civil society of Jammu. It is pertinent to mention here that today's performance was organised by Natrang in collaboration with J&K Police.
