BLSKS mounts one week special campaign on drug abuse

JAMMU, July 15: To promote the traditional culture of J&K & to aware the masses, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan mount one week special campaign in close coordination with Directorate of Social welfare department Jammu & Kashmir Govt., and Sangam Tru Art Production in its 120th Friday series Dogri Musical concert "Asen Nasha Nai Karna" ( Nukkad Natak) on the theme of "Drug Abuse" at Rehearsal Hall , Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu to promote most effective measures to protect the masses especially the vulnerable population i.e. adolescents from getting exploited by the menace of Drug addiction and enable them to adopt safe and rational use of drugs by way of generating awareness through effective information and communication technologies. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest V.K. Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Among the Guest of Honors present were Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director , Health Department J&K Government, Dr. Anju Kumari Dogra, Health Department Jammu & Mukesh Singh, Media Person- The Shadow Newspaper. The Specially items prepared on the theme "Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio", " Bacho Bacho Tobacoo Kola Bacho", "Nai Pee Shraban", "Bari Kharab Chutki", "Nahin Piya Tobacco Balma", Nukkad, Skits, Songs and Dances were presented to aware the masses. The Chief Guest magotra, said Drugs and Crime uses the commemorative day to highlight the dangers of drug use and their illegal trade and provides educational material to teachers and public officials all over the world to help spread the message about the extreme cultural and economic harm the trade in drugs is still doing across the globe and also laid stress on the dangers of the Covid-19 virus primarily spreads when one person breathes in droplets or aerosols that are produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks, or breathes. Physical distancing refers to actions taken to stop or slow down the spread of a contagious disease. For an individual, it refers to maintaining enough distance (6 feet or more) between yourself and another person to avoid getting infected or infecting someone else and lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective. In addition to the above program the artist of BLSks also presented song "Savdhan Savdhan " were recorded and upload on social media for general public. The musical play & songs were written by Dr. M.L. Dogra & music was assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor blsks. During the campaign BLSk's will presents 7 programs in , Akhnoor, R.S. Pura & Bishnah, Blocks of Jammu District .The songs were recorded and upload on social media for general public.
Welcome speech was given by Dr. M.L.Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan who highlighted the event also appealed to the audience especially children to be the eyes and ears of the nation and pledged to put maximum efforts to make J&K State free from Menace of Drug addiction & also recalled the significant role of NGO'S in the last few decades for bridging this gap by creating low cost replicable models of health care such as child mental health, schizophrenia and psychotic conditions, drug and alcohol abuse, dementia etc. Their activities have included treatment, rehabilitation, community care, research, training and capacity building, awareness and lobbying. Dr. Anju Dogra in her address stressed for extracting the maximum attention of the masses especially addicted population who suffered from the use of tobacco & tobacco products, alcohol and Liquor and other such habit forming agents i.e. Cocaine, Morphine, Heroin, etc , she also said drug abuse can make you sick cause depression, personality and thought disorder & also said masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19, and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. This is why everyone should wear a mask when they go out in public.
The singers, musician, actors and students of music and computer institute who participated in the musical concert were Usha Raina, Raju Bajgal, Sunil Kumar Dalotra, Sunil Kumar Pandit, Renu Bala, and many others presented enthralled performances. At last of the programe Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks for successful conduction of the program.
