JAMMU, July 15: Eco Club in collaboration with NSS Unit of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce Jammu organised a plantation drive on 15 July, 2022 in the college campus to celebrate Van Mohatsav. Principal of the college Prof. Ranjeet Singh Jamwal inaugurated the celebrations by planting a fruit tree. All the staff members both teaching and non teaching as well as students participated in the plantation drive with zeal and enthusiasm. Various decorative and medicinal plants and fruit trees were brought by the staff members and students which were planted in the college. Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the organizers and all the participants for organising this event. He also talked about the importance of celebrating VanMohatsav in creating awareness regarding environment.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Deepak Pathania (Convener, Eco Club) and Prof. Rajni Bala & Prof. Apfan Ali (NSS Coordinators). Among the teaching faculty, Prof. Archana Kaul, Prof. Sandhya Bhardwaj , Prof. Savita Jamwal, Prof. Monika Malhotra, Prof. Deepshikha Sharma, Dr. Sarabjeet Kaur Sudan, Prof. Rishu Mahjan, Malik Aijaz , Prof. Gurcharan Singh, Prof. Jaswinder Singh were present. Renu Gupta, Tarseem Lal, Saima, Tanmeet Kaur and Nazar Hussain from non-teaching also actively participated in the event. Volunteers from Eco club and NSS also adopted various plants and took oath to look after them |
