GDC Vijaypur organizes one day workshop

VIJAYPUR, July 16: NSS unit and Ecoclub of GDC Vijaypur in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) organised a one day workshop on "Swachhta and Sustainable Development". This workshop was as endeavor to spread the message of protecting the environment and promoting Swachhta and greenery in college campus. NSS Volunteers, Ecoclub members and other students participated in the workshop with great zeal, enthusiasm and fervor.
The workshop commenced with the welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Ecoclub) and she shared some Swachhta related activities of the institution held earlier in the institution and discussed key features of the sustainability. Ms. Babita, Project Associate, MGNCRE, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India briefed the staff and students of the college about the importance of Swachhta and sustainability in college campus. She explained various measures to promote Greenery, Water management, Sanitation management, Waste management, Energy conservation and solar energy in the campus which is the need of the hour. She further added that we all should start this clean and green campaign from our houses and for this we can do organic farming, vermicomposting or can collect seeds for seed banks.
Students of the college actively participated in the question and answer session of the workshop.
The workshop was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the college. She appraised that Swachhta and sustainability must be followed vigorously in life as they lead us to a better living. Formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO). The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Naseem Choudhary and Prof. Poonam Kundan and coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convener NSS) and Prof. Anil Bhagat.
