Jammu, July 17: Under the aegis of ‘AzadiKaAmritMahotsav’, NHAI PIU Jammuorganized a day long plantation drive today. Under this initiative,Project Director PIU Jammuplanted a total of 1200 No’s. saplings during the day at Marh, Ring Road Jammu Ch. 30+850 to Ch. 32+500 and Ch. 34+000 to Ch. 38+000. Shri Yashpal Singh Jadon, Project Director PIU Jammu graced the occasion and started the planted drive by planting a sapling along with other senior NHAI officials. This plantation drive was a part of a nationwide drive that NHAI has organized to mark the Amrit Mahotsav,celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence. Hon’ble Ministerfor Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, launched this nationwide plantation initiative from Nagpur today. NHAI’s aim is to plant 75 lakhplantations till 15th August 2022 across the country to commemorate 75 years of Independence. NHAI’s vision is to saturate plantations along the National Highways collectively by involving Concessionaires, State Government agencies, Private Plantation Agencies, Women SHGs through State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) and Forest & Horticulture experts. |
