| CRPF officer martyred in Pulwama terror attack | | |

Srinagar, July 17: An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died in a militant attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
Police said militants fired upon a joint party of security forces at a Checkpoint at Gangoo Crossing from a nearby Apple orchard injuring an ASI of CRPF. The injured officer was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment where he succumbed.
The officer has been identified as Vinod Kumar of 182 Bn.
The area has been cordoned off and a massive search operation is in progress.
