Skill development pivotal in overcoming joblessness: Kavinder
7/17/2022 11:04:50 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 17: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta asserted that skill development is very significant in overcoming the rising unemployment. He was speaking after inaugurating a handmade marble idols shop namely Dutta Mandir Murti Waley, here at Marble Market on Sunday. Former MLA Gandhi Nagar Constituency Kavinder Gupta was accompanied by Rajkumar Tarkhan, Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee JMC and Jal Shakti PHE Jammu.
The BJP stalwart maintained that the skill development of youth is the priority of the government and so far many initiatives have been taken up in this regard. He appealed to the aspiring youths to become proficient by enhancing their skills as this is quite significant to plug in the gap between education and training, and the job requirement. Kavinder said that government has created a set-up relying on modern training modules to create a skilled work force as per the market demand and it is now upto the aspiring youths to avail maximum benefit out of it to become employable or explore the start-up options provided by Modi Government for transforming job seekers into job providers by expanding entrepreneurship base in J&K. He also threw light on some major issues and initiatives that need to be redressed in future and to make the youth motivated towards various skills of line departments to ensure job security.
The senior BJP leader said that young people aren’t able to identify or acquire the skills needed for today’s job market contributing to a big skills gap and exacerbating unemployment therefore it is necessary that youth of Jammu and Kashmir must approach the concerned departments including the J&K’s Skill Development Department to get complete knowledge before going for skill development initiative because young people are unable to identify which skills they need for future employment opportunities. Others who were present include Deepak Gupta Executive Member BJYM District Jammu, Jagdish Raj Proch Ward President, Jeewan Singh Charak BJP leader, Gopi Sharma, Shubam Sharma, Akash Sharma and Ami Chand Sharma.
