Kathua, July 18: Government Degree College Kathua bagged First prize in Poster Presentation in intercollegiate Science Exhibition held at GLDM Government Degree College Hiranagar on 16th July, 2022. The theme of the exhibition was “Green Earth and Sustainable Development”.
Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia, Principal, GDC Kathua felicitated the students. Speaking on the occasion the Principal of the college in presence of the senior faculty members Prof. Jasvinder Singh, Prof. Rakesh Singh stressed upon the need of Artificial Intelligence in day-to-day life. He appreciated the students of Computer Science for preparing a poster on Artificial Intelligence and emphasized upon the use of Artificial Intelligence in developing intelligent machines that can react like human experts. Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia encouraged students to use Artificial Intelligence to solve problems of different domains like face recognition, speech recognition, diseases detection, pests detection, poor nutrition of crops etc. He congratulated the department of Computer Science for providing a golden opportunity to the students for participating in an intercollegiate level event. Prof. Rahul Sharma, HOD Computer Science also discussed about wide range of tools that enables people to integrate information, analyze data, and use the resulting insights to improve decision making. Prof. Shiv Kumar, Prof Surbhi Gupta and Prof. Bharat were also present on the occasion.
The students of Computer Science Department presented Poster on “Artificial Intelligence in Sustainable Development”. The Poster depicted the potential of Artificial Intelligence to accelerate global efforts to protect the environment and conserve resources. More than 300 students from different schools and colleges and also from University of Jammu participated in the event.
