Div Com reviews arrangements for Independence Day celebrations

JAMMU, July 18: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar on Monday chaired a meeting of Heads of Departments to review the arrangements for the Independence Day- 2022 celebrations at Divisional and district levels. It was informed that this year the divisional level function would be held here at M A Stadium. The Div Com reviewed department wise assigned tasks and instructed the concerned officers to put in place all arrangements well in advance for smooth celebration of the National event.
He took detailed stock of security arrangements, traffic management, seating arrangements, decoration and illumination of venues and Government Buildings, provision of PAS, Power water supply, sanitation, Medicare, besides distribution of invitation cards, finalization of cultural activities. The concerned officers were instructed to follow the devised plans while accomplishing their assigned tasks. The concerned officers were instructed to spread and publicize the theme of different schemes among the masses through social media platforms to mark Independence Day celebrations.
The Div Com asked Police and other security agencies to maintain close coordination while executing the security plan including adequate deployment of personnel to keep a close tab on suspicious movement. The Health department was instructed to deploy a team of doctors and ambulances at all the venues.
The meeting was informed that the Contingents including J&K Police, Armed, CRPF, Lady Contingents, Home Guard, Fire & Emergency Services and Forest Protection Force would participate in the march past. The Div Com asked the Director School Education and J&K Cultural Academy to finalise cultural items and start rehearsal at the earliest. The Commissioner JMC was told to ensure sanitation, water tanker facilities, and mobile toilet facilities at the main venue and practice venues.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav; SSP Jammu, SSP Traffic, SSP Security, BSF, Chief Engineer JPDCL, Directors of School Education, Floriculture, Joint Director Hospitality & Protocol besides senior functionaries of Sport Council, Youth Services & Sports, Culture Academy, JKRTC, Fire Services, NCC and other concerned departments.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner held a video conferencing meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners and reviewed the Independence Day arrangements in the districts.
The DCs apprised the Div Com about the arrangements being put in place for ensuring smooth celebrations of the national event.
The Div Com directed all the Deputy Commissioners to put in place all necessary arrangements well in time for celebrations of Independence Day. He also asked them to also ensure smooth celebrations at Sub divisions, Block and Panchayat level.
Regarding the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav the Div Com instructed DCs to constitute committees at district and sub division levels and appoint nodal officers for the same. He asked them to ensure the hoisting of the national flag on every household, vehicles, Government buildings and offices in the districts.
