JAMMU, July 22: Under the aegis of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', Regional office Jammu organized a day long plantation drive on 24/07/2022. Under this initiative, NHAI Regional office Jammu planted a total of 4000 No's.saplings during the day at Jakh, Ring Road Jammu Ch. 0.000 to Ch. 6+000. Rohin Kumar Gupta, Regional officer, NHAI Jammu graced the occasion and started the planted drive by planting a sapling along with other senior NHAI officials.
This plantation drive was a part of a nationwide drive that NHAI has organized to mark the Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of India's Independence. Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, launched this nationwide plantation initiative from Nagpur on 24/07/2022. NHAI's aim is to plant 75 lakh plantations till 15th August 2022 across the country to commemorate 75 years of Independence.
NHAI's vision is to saturate plantations along the National Highways collectively by involving Concessionaires, State Government agencies, Private Plantation Agencies, Women SHGs through State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) and Forest & Horticulture experts. |
