Dogri Sanstha organizes 'Yuva Dogri Kahani Goshthi

JAMMU, Aug 1: Dogri Sanstha Jammu, a pioneer literary organization working for preserving and publicizing mother tongue Dogri organized online 'Yuva Kahani Goshthi' in Dogri and dedicated it to one of the most prolific Hindi and Urdu writer Premchand on his birthday.
In the program three well known young short story writers mesmerized the audience with their beautiful and thought provoking stories. Dr. Sheetal Sharma explored the generation gap with 'SHARMINDA' whereas Dr. Radha Rani exposed the man domination and sufferings of females through her well-crafted short story 'NAMI KAHANI'. Dr. Sunil Kumar , recipient of Sahitya Academy New Delhi 's Yuva Puraskar for his collection of short stories 'SEES' in 2019 read two short stories ' MAJBOOR' based on casteism and 'NEHRA" revolving around unemployment, corruption and quashed selection lists that increase the frustration of genuine candidates.
The program was presided over by Prof. Veena Gupa, eminent Dogri writer and Vice President Dogri Sanstha Jammu. In her presidential address, she said that all the three writers have proved with their short stories that mother tongue Dogri has bright future. The stories were well woven around familiar characters and the language used was very impressive. She hoped that they will continue writing on different aspects of life and contribute to Dogri literature. She further said that as they are Assistant Professors in different colleges, they should inspire their students also to boost the mother tongue dogri.
The program was conducted by well-known English, Hindi and Dogri writer, General Secretary Dogri Sanstha Jammu Rajeshwar Singh 'Raju' who wished that with the participation of young writers penning down their creative works in different genres Sanstha will be organizing more and more innovative programs both online and offline in future also. He also presented vote of thanks. Technical support was given by eminent theatre activist and poet Pawan Verma for smooth conduct of program. The program was watched and appreciated throughout India and abroad through Facebook page of Dogri Sanstha Jammu.
