First-Aid training held at Red Cross Bhawan

Jammu, Aug 4: First aid is a basic medical care given in good faith to a sick or injured person to maintain life and prevent further injury until professional medical care becomes available and takes over. Indian Red Cross society, Jammu Region has been empowered by IRCS ,NHQ to provide and to train First Aid training course to the selected areas of operation MNC Companies factory students and general public.
Likewise four days First-Aid Training has been imparted by Indian Red Cross Society , Jammu Region w.e.f 1st Aug, 2022 to 4th Aug, 2022 to the employees of M/s Godrej Agrovet Ltd, Samba, Berger Paints (India) Ltd. ( A Division of British Paints), Samba, employees of Pidilite Industries, Kathua and Commercial Vehicle Drivers.
During the 4-days training course, participants were apprised of the various techniques of Disaster Management during Earthquakes, Fires, Floods, famine, basic safety equipment use, incident management.
Practical demonstration covered critical skills such as how to appropriately treat someone who is bleeding, choking, or suffering from shock, Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation, ways to deal with life threatening conditions such as seizures, unconsciousness, or a non-breathing casualty. In addition, employees were shown how to handle a situation where the casualty is having a heart attack, anaphylaxis, asthma, or cardiac arrest or any situation arises during any accident.
Theoretical and practical lectures were delivered/ demonstrated by Dr. Aasia Noor, Medical Officer and Smt. Kanchan Devi, Sup. Pharmacist, IRCS Jammu Region.
The training was conducted under the able guidance and supervision of Sat Pal Sharma Hony. Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region in his office premises at Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu, where he was continuously supervising the said training.
In the last session, Sat Pal Sharma, interacted with the participants where he congratulated each and every employee personally for successfully completing the training and examination.
He further added that this training can be used in your workplace and can be practiced it further in future. The exam was conducted by Dr. Kavita Nijhon Verma along with Joginder Kumar, Sup. Pharmacist.
