| Campaign to keep Food safe in UT J&k launched | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 9: Consuming Edible oil below the Prescribed standards of Food Safety is detrimental to Health and simultaneously to ascertain the quality and standards of diary milk & milk products as per FSSAI ,the drives are in full gear across UT j&k . Sh.Shakeel-ul -Rehman Commissioner FDA j&k envisaged the directions to both the divisional Heads of the Food Safety Department of Drugs and Food Control Orgn to expediate the process of drives from 01-08-2022 to 14 -08-2022 .
The main objective of the drives is to ensure safe ,wholesome & qaulity Food to the Customers & public in General.To suffice this objective & compliance made thereunder the drives are underway and as per official hand out till date 122 surveillance Samples of Edible oil of different brands available in the market have been lifted & sent to National Food Laboratory Ghaziabad for analysis under FSSA ,moreover, milk was also operated from yesterday in which 21surveillence samples of milk were drawn out of 07 samples were collected as legal samples from Jammu, Doda & Kishtwar Districts ,meanwhile 10 liters(approx. )milk found below standard was destroyed on the spot.The department is on practical approach to provide safe food to the public and to ensure Food Safety the stakeholders involved in small & medium Bussiness & the Food Bussiness Operators involved in manufacturing/processing ,packing ,storage,distribution, handlers,retail & transportation are appealled to come forward and give helping hands to the Department for eradicating the menace of Adultertion & taking corrective measures. |
