NABARD organizes Unit Cost Committee meeting for J&K, Ladakh

JAMMU, Aug 12: NABARD Jammu and Kashmir Regional Office organized a UT Level Unit Cost Committee meeting for the UT of Jammu & Kashmir & Ladakh on 11 August 2022 for fixing the cost of various investment activities under Farm Sector for the year 2022-23.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. A.K Sood, CGM, NABARD, JK RO and was attended by the line departments viz Agriculture, Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Fisheries etc. who were represented by their Directors and Joint Directors. Other participants included SKUAST, SLBC Convenor Bank, major Commercial Banks, RRBs and Cooperative Bank The meeting was also attended by UTLBC Convenor, Ladakh and Director AH Ladakh through online mode.
The Unit Cost of Farm Equipment , Sheep/Goat rearing, fisheries and few investment of horticulture were revised for the year. Unit cost of trout and carp fisheries was introduced during the year.
CGM NABARD emphasized that the process of Revision and Fixation of Unit costs every year facilitates adequate credit flow to technically feasible, economically viable and bankable investments/projects. The revision in unit costs in respect of all major investment credit activities for the year 2022-23 for J&K and Ladakh was carried out through consultation process involving Bankers, Research Institutions, Commodity Boards, Govt. Departments, farmers along with NABARD DDMs and technical officers.
Deliberations were also held to increase financing under investment activities under agriculture, which would lead to capital formation.
