IGNOU Regional Centre organizes "Har Ghar Tiranga '' campaign at Udhampur, Samba

JAMMU, Aug 16: As a part of celebrations to commemorate the 75 years of Indian Independence, Regional Centre Jammu organized "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign at Samba and Udhampur in coordination with Learner Support Centres - 12119, Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur and 1280, Bhargava Degree College, Samba.
Assistant Regional Directors, Dr. Vikram Singh and Dr. Asha Upadhyay from the Regional Centre Jammu participated in the programme and distributed flags among the learners associated with the said Centre and also among the regular students of the Institution. The Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and other staff of the College as well as LSC were also present. The students were encouraged to hoist the National Flag in their homes as a mark of celebration of completion of 75 years of Independence of the Nation.
Regional Centre Jammu of IGNOU also organized the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign at Village Kotli Bala situated in Udhampur district of Jammu province on 13th of August, 2022. The village is located 10 kilometers away from the district headquarters in a hilly terrain. Village Kotli Bala is also a Gram Panchayat. The programme was organized by our Learner Support Centre 12119, Bhartiya College of Education, Udhampur in coordination with Sarpanch of the Village, Neena Devi.
Regional Director I/C, Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Assistant Regional Directors, Dr. Vikram Singh and Dr. Asha Upadhyay and Section Officer Dara Singh participated in the programme and distributed flags. The team of officials from Regional Centre Jammu interacted with the locals and students of the village and informed them about the IGNOU programmes and schemes and initiatives that IGNOU is offering. The team of RC Jammu was delighted to learn that the people were well aware about the schemes IGNOU offers with regard to SC/ST scholarship.
During the celebrations, National Flags were distributed among the locals and the students of local Higher Secondary School situated in the village. The IGNOU team apprised the locals and students about importance of the National Flag and what it means to celebrate "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" marking 75 years of India Independence with the theme "Har Ghar Tiranga" to make this occasion a grand success by hoisting the flag at each and every house of the Country to remember the freedom fighters of India and to offer true homage to our soldiers.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Vikram Singh to the Sarpanch, locals, students and faculty/staff of Bhartiya College of Education. The cooperation of management and staff of the College made it possible for us to organize such an important programme in a remote village located in a hilly terrain.
