Misappropriation of funds: ACB books AEE, AEs, others

Jammu, Aug 27: Anticorruption Bureau Jammu has registered a case against Assistant Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer for the misappropriation of funds.
The cases under sections 5(1) (c), 5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt.2006 and section 120-B RPC were registered against Kuldeep Kumar Kaith AEE, Shabir Ahmed Malik and Vinod Kumar Abrol both AEs and Rahul Gandotra, TA (Contractual) RDD Block Chassana, Sahil Gandotra, TA (Contractual) RDD Block Chassana for misappropriation of funds.
The verification was initiated against officers/ officials of Rural Development Department of Block Chassana Reasi for committing fraud and minting money by misusing the funds meant for the development of Panchyats of Block Chassana and not exécuting the works on grounds for the year 2017-18, verification conducted by this Bureau revealed that loss to the government exchequer amounting to Rs.1365425.00 has been caused by the officers/ officials of RDD/ REW Departments of Block Chassana Reasi while executing the works under MGNREGA during the year 2017-18. i- Const of PC/Work at Pleri NHO Mohan Singh Pyt. Manjikote Block Chassana under MGNREGA for the year 2017-18. Construction of P/C work at Chowia Nalla Panchyat Halqa Manjikote Block Chassana District Reasi under MGNREGA for the year 2017-18, Construction of P/Work at near Mandir a Manjikote Block Chassana District Reasi under MGNREGA for the year 2017-18. Construction of Pond Near Panchyat Ghar Bann^ Panchyat Banna, A Block Chassana under MGNREGA for the year 2017-18. Construction of Play Field at Govt. Primary Schoo Khatwari Ban Panchyat Banna A Block Chassans under MGNREGA for the year 2017-18.
It was also found that the aforementioned officers; officials by abusing their official positions and in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy hatched among themselves entered into inflated quantities of works in the Measurement Book; whereas on spot lesser quantities of works have been executed resulting into huge loss to the government exchequer with corresponding wrongful gains to themselves.
