DPS Jammu solemnizes investiture ceremony 2022

Jammu, Aug 2: Delhi Public School Jammu solemnized the Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2022-23 with full zeal, zest and enthusiasm. The theme for this year’s Investiture Ceremony was ‘Sankalp se Siddhi ki aur-Lead to Inspire.’ The Chief Guest of the event was the alumni batch 2013-14, Mr. Hiteshwar Singh, whereas, the Guest of Honor too was the school alumni, batch 2016-17, Ms. Aditi Aryan. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh Ji, Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chairperson, DPS Jammu, Parents of the student cabinet, Principal, staff and students of the school.
Hiteshwar Singh is an International Skater and a Roll Ball Champion, having won Gold for India in two World Cups besides several other honours while the Guest of Honour, Ms. Aditi Aryan is the member of the Women Cricket Team from J&K Cricket Association, a professional Kathak dancer, an upcoming model and an actor, having several awards to her name.
The ceremony commenced with the welcoming of the dignitaries and the parents, followed by a mellifluous rendition of the school anthem by the school choir.
The adorning and swearing in of the members of the student council of DPS Jammu was a solemn ceremony, conferring authority to the prefectorial board comprising of 72 young leaders, who were elected after scrutinous interviewing and selection. The ceremony was a representation of the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. The badges and sashes were adorned on the young shoulders by the esteemed school management, the chief guests, Principal and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
The Dipsites also enthralled the audience with a poetic dance performance on the theme ‘Sankalp- Naye Bharat ka Chehra,’ which was a mesmerizing poetry of footsteps and filled the air with the spirit of dynamism and unity. In another dance performance, the students portrayed a soulful show, conveying the message of hope that one must not give up, no matter how hard the situation is.
In her address, Pro-Vice Chairperson, DPS Jammu - Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh Ji, congratulated the newly elected student cabinet and advised the Student Council Members to act honestly, diligently and responsibly to realize the school’s motto ‘Service Before Self’. She exhorted the students to always remember FAR, i.e. F-Fortitude, A-Ardent, R-Resilience and encouraged them to inculcate the values of punctuality, dedication, discipline and determination being the torch bearers of tomorrow. She remarked that leadership does not mean enjoyment of one’s power, rather, it is a means to empower other.
It was a proud moment for all the parents of the newly elected cabinet members to witness their children being invested with great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders.
Principal-DPS Jammu, Ms. Ruchi Chabra in her address, delineated the school’s vision and philosophy and lauded the role of the Management and parents in the progress of the school. She also administered the oath to the newly inducted Student Cabinet 2022-23, wherein the students pledged to uphold the school’s motto ‘Service Before Self’ in high esteem with loyalty, honesty and dedication. The magnificent spectacle of the young leaders on the stage, donning their mantle of accountability and taking the oath of responsibility was truly graceful and enthralling.
The speeches by the Head Boy-Asim Mir and the Head Girl-Mir Sara reaffirmed the diligence and dedication with which the new student council would function and motivated the newly elected members to take up their task with zeal and enthusiasm.
A march past of the newly elected Student Council, holding the house flags in their hands was carried out in perfect synchronization with the beat of the school band. The fluttering of the five house flags: Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum, Tawi & Yamuna lent a jubilant ambience for the vibrant students.
The whole programme was compered by Ishant Singh (XI-C) & Ayn Bhola (IX-G) along with Ms. Shefali Magan Tiwari & Ms. Tanzeel. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem followed by the group photograph, and inauguration of the newly built Table Tennis Room.
