Food Safety Deptt continue its drive in Jammu

Jammu, Sept 6: Food Safety regulators aimed at to increase more sample testings of milk & milk products & to induce vigorous compaign to ensure availability of safe milk & milk products to people..Madan Magotra Dy Commissioner Food Safety Jammu Division along with Sh.Dev Dutt Sharma Assistant Commissioner Food Safety District Jammu accompanied by the energetic Food Safety Officers of District jammu & simultaneously all the Enforcement wings of the Division today initiated the milk drive second time during this fortnight to monitor the qaulity of milk being sold in the markets .And to assess the rules, regulations of Food Safety Act & provsions made thereunder and hence to encompass the unscrupulous elements including milk suppliers ,vendors ,FBO'S & diary Bussiness Operators & the dealers etc. knowing the fact that demand of milk & milk.products is outstripping the supply.In order to epitomize the purpose of Enforcement activities today 15 Enforcemnent samples of milk & milk products were collected for analysis under FSSA .The special drive is to build public confidence in the Safety & qaulity of milk and milk products, since milk and milk has short self life and are prone to spoilage so to check such issue whether storage & handling is properly implemented, the teams across the Division today imparted comprehensive awareness. For active surveillance vehicle of Mobile Food Testing Van is being Utilized Food Safety on wheels undertook 29 for the on the spot testing all found satisfactory. During this drive 53 establishments were checked across the Division.
Briefing to the media Sh.Madan Magotra Dy Commissioner Food Safety Jammu Division said that they have been directed to follow a set gaol of targets for drawing online samples of different categories of food items & online inspections are being successfully carried out and monitored through a proper system. Frequently drives of different categories of food items including milk and milk products, sweets, spices, oils ,cearles ,Fruit juices etc.are part of our day to day activities .The Department is vigil about to trace out the adulerators who will attract punishments if food products found to be in contravention to the standards of FSSA. As a result of daily routine exercises ,the Department is aheading towards a better position where it can be proclamed that the graph of menace of he adulteration has declined to lower minuscus, he also asserted that while launching the milk & milk products drive that in case of any Grievances toll free no.of the Department are available even on MFTV for Consumers Safety..he concluded with the commitment that the drive shall continue till next decision.
