After name calling of cricketer Asrhdeep Singh, Pak hand suspected in fake videos circulated in Kashmir
9/6/2022 11:05:54 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Sept 6: Even as ace cricketer Arshdeep Singh was caught in the crossfire between India and Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2022 on September 4, when he dropped the catch during the second last over of the match to be labeled as “Khalistani” by social media handles from the neighboring country, the same Pak handlers are suspected to have tried to create mischief on Kashmir as well on the same night.
While the catch drop during the nail-biting match between the two archrivals seems to have caught the attention of Pakistanis who started a propaganda against the bowler on Twitter, calling him “Khalistani”, the same Pakis are suspected to be behind the circulation of fake videos that Kashmir celebrated the victory of the match.
Most of these accounts, targeting Arshdeep, were from Pakistan and running Khalistan propaganda against India and after the victory of the neighboring country in the match, numerous fake videos of celebrations in Kashmir were also circulated on the social media prompting the police to refute the fake videos.
“There are many fake/ old videos being shared on twitter by many handles including verified ones for sensationalism. If you live in Srinagar you will know how peaceful and calm post match atmosphere is today. It is again requested to all not to circulate such fake & old videos,” the police tweeted.
As senior official said the IP addresses of many of those who had shared fake videos about Kashmir celebrations have been found rooted to Pakistan.
“See even on the day of cricket match the terror factory in Pakistan was not silent. On one hand fake accounts were created to falsely portray that India was against the Sikh community after Arshdeep missed the catch during the crucial Asia Cup match, and other hand fake or old videos of Kashmir were shared to create confusion. And this is actually how our neighbor has been behaving for the last over seven decades,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
