9/9/2022 11:28:09 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 9: Renowned Social activist and crusader for the rights of OBCs of the J&K Advocate Mohd. Latif Malik, today in a press note lambasted National Conference, Congress and PDP for betraying the people belonging to the OBCs by deliberately not implementing the 27 % reservation. Mr. Malik submitted that the Political parties which remain in Power in J&K since 1992 are solely responsible for depriving the OBCs of UT of Jammu and Kashmir for depriving them from their established legitimate right of 27 % reservation. Mr. Malik blamed these political parties for the present day situation of OBCs of JK which still have not provided reservation as implemented since 1992 in the rest of the country after the implementation of the Mandal Commission recommendations and the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court titled Indra Sawhney & Ors. V/S U.O.I. & others decided on 16.11.1992. Mr. Malik further blamed NC, Congress and PDP for using the OBCs for the vote Bank politics and before elections, every time, these political parties made false promises of fulfilling the long pending demand of 27 % reservation but once, these parties came in power, they forget all their promises and till date the OBCs of the UT of J&K still not getting their due right of reservation.
According to Mr. Malik, after the abrogation of Article 370 and 5th of August move of the Union Government of India with regard to J&K, the OBCs of the erstwhile state of J&K was having high expectations and hopeful that they will soon get 27% reservation as is being provided to the OBCs of the rest of the country, but even after the 5th of August 2019 decision of the Government of India, the OBCs of the J&K UT is deprived of their due established share of 27% reservation. Social activist and senior Teli Biradari Leader Advocate Mohd. Latif Malik appealed the Hon’ble LG to take steps to forthwith implement Mandal Commission recommendations and the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court titled Indra Sawhney & Ors. V/S U.O.I. & others decided on 16.11.1992 in J&K and grant 27% reservation to the OBCs of J&K in government jobs and promotions.
Mr. Malik, appealed the PM Narinder Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and to LG Manoj Sinha and implement the judgment of the Supreme Court titled Indra Sawhney & Ors. V/S U.O.I. & others decided on 16.11.1992 in toto in the UT of J&K and grant 27% reservation is right of OBCs of J&K, otherwise the historic decision of abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution of India will be of no benefit for the OBCs of J&K.
