Div Com Jammu reviews developmental scenario, implementation of Govt schemes

DODA, Sept 11: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, today visited Doda and reviewed the developmental scenario and implementation of Central schemes in the district.
Chairing a meeting of officers of district administration, he took detailed review of implementation of schemes/programmes and developmental issues pertaining to the District.
District Development Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, ADC, SP Bhaderwah, SE Hydraulics Doda, SE PWD Doda, CPO Doda, besides district heads of different departments attended the meeting.
At the outset, the District Development Commissioner welcomed the Divisional Commissioner and gave a resume of developmental and other activities in Doda district.
Reviewing the physical and financial progress achieved in the execution of developmental works by different departments, the Divisional Commissioner directed the executing agencies to accelerate the progress for their time bound completion. He further directed to ensure judicious and gainful expenditure of released funds.
Reviewing the tendering and allotment of the projects approved under different schemes including District Capex, JJM, CRIF, NABARD, the Divisional Commissioner directed the departments to immediately get pending administrative approvals at their level and resolve the land and forest issues, if any, in coordination with the concerned departments.
The district heads were directed to give the responsibility of completion of the set targets to the subordinates and field functionaries. The DDC was asked to convene weekly meetings of each sector to review the progress achieved.
Underlining the importance of the self-employment sector, the Div Com directed the implementing departments to hold special camps to encourage and register youth for different self-employment schemes rolled out by the Union and UT Governments. “Spread mass awareness and give wide publicity to the self employment and social sector schemes to extend benefits of the same to maximum number of eligible people” he directed.
Regarding agriculture & allied sectors, including Animal Husbandry, the Div Com said that the district has immense potential which can be explored by the effective implementation and awareness of all the schemes pertaining to these sectors. He directed all the concerned departments to synergise their efforts to achieve the goal of doubling the farmers’ income and increasing the farm productions by introducing modern techniques and innovations.
The Div Com took a detailed review of the progress of work on mega projects, including Sudhmahadev Goha Khaleni road and tunnels, GMC Doda, High Altitude Medicinal plant, GDC Kastigarh, Multipurpose indoor hall, Polytechnic college Doda. He directed the executing agencies to ensure timely completion of the projects and directed the DDC to ensure timely resolution of the bottlenecks, if any.
The Divisional Commissioner also took review of implementation of flagship schemes and programmes, Physical and financial progress under district capex budget 2022-23, progress made in Tourism sector, implementation of Beneficiary oriented schemes, progress made under MGNREGA, SBM, PMAY G, Awaas plus, Agriculture sector and Horticulture sector.
The Div Com directed the concerned departments to mobilize men and machinery for effective implementation of all schemes and coverage of 100% eligible beneficiaries under the schemes.
Inquiring about the Division wise progress of PMGSY projects, the Div Com directed the concerned authorities to expedite the progress of work and achieve the targets set by the Government as per the timeline.
Asserting that Power, Health, Education, Agriculture and Jal Shakti have been tagged as priority sectors by the Government, he asked the officers to work hard to reach out to the people with the benefits of the same.
Regarding Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan, the Div Com directed the Police department to submit the dossiers against identified drug peddlers under NDPS Act to bring them to the book, besides directed Civil and police Administration to intensify awareness campaign across the district by roping in the Panchayati Raj System and the educational institutions.
Later, the Div Com visited the Associated Hospital, GMC Doda and took stock of patient care and the progress of the ongoing construction work of teaching hospital building. He also inspected the Multi-purpose indoor hall at sports stadium Doda and directed the concerned to complete both the projects within the set timeline.
