ADGP Mukesh Singh inaugurates Friendship Cup Cricket tournament

Jammu, Sepy 11: To acknowledge the contribution & Passion of players from Corporate sector, the First Edition of Friendship Cup T20 Cricket Tournament was declared open by Mukesh Singh ADGP Jammu at M A Stadium Jammu.The tournament is being organised by Media Cricket Club Jammu in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
He was accompanied by Vivek Suri Captain Media Cricket Club Jammu & Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer J&K Sports Council.
Mukesh Singh welcomed & congratulated the players participating in the tournament. He appreciated the efforts of Media Cricket Club for such initiative to host such events. He also underscored the importance of holding such sports events under “My Youth My Pride” campaign to provide an enabling platform to the youth to showcase their talent and keep them away from Drug Abuse in the district.
In today’s match ACB XI Jammu defeated Combine Cricket Club Jammu by 67 runs by D/L method after rain stopped the play.
Amit Sharma Bhanu captain of Combine Cricket Club won the toss and invited ACB XI to bat first. CCC got an early breakthrough when Udeep was out in 3 over at an individual score of 9. But Imran, skipper of ACB alongwith Deepi laid a sound foundation for the team before Imran was out when score was 58. Experienced Davinder Singh & Maninder set the tone for high score and ACB scored 150 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Maninder & Davinder scored quickfire 33 & 32 respectively. For CCC Myank took 3 wickets, Amit , Avinash, Abhinav shared 1 wicket each.
Chasing a challenging target of 151 runs in 20 overs, CCC started on a disastrous note as Vasu was out in very first over. Wickets kept on tumbling for CCC and they were 83 for 6 in 12.4 overs before rain stopped the play. ACB XI was declared winner of the match by 67 runs
Abhinav Sharma played a valiant knock of 30 runs followed by Rajesh 14 & Mayank 13. For ACB XI. Mohd. Arif took 2 wickets while Maninder, Udeep & Rocky share 1 wicket each.
For his all round performance Maninder of ACB XI was declared Man of the Match.
