NIA, SIA playing vital role
9/11/2022 11:55:01 PM

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the charge sheet filed against the six accused in connection with the target killing of a Sarpanch in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has mentioned that Panchayat representatives were targeted to disturb peace and democratic process established by the Panchayati Raj System.
After the abrogation of Article 370, Pakistan and the terrorists sponsored by it made every possible attempt to vitiate peace in J&K by killing panchayat representatives, members of the minority communities and the J&K policemen. They tried their best to recreate a 1990 like situation which forced Kashmiri Pandits to leave everything behind and flee.
But this time around they didn’t succeed in their nefarious designs and were given a befitting reply. The security agencies launched a massive crackdown against the killers and eliminated them. Attempts to terrorize the members of the minority communities and Panchayat Representatives were foiled.
The NIA and the State Investigation Agency (SIA) are playing an important role in curbing terror. Both these agencies have broken the backs of terrorist supporters and the network of the over ground workers. The meticulous investigations carried by the NIA and SIA have choked the Hawala channels through which money used to flow to keep the terrorism alive in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on many occasions has always reiterated that the terror eco-system will be shattered and the terrorist supporters will be dealt with an iron fist. During the past three years the terror infrastructure has almost been shattered in J&K, especially in Kashmir. Separatists, who used to orchestrate street protests and stone-pelting, have lost their addresses as they have been dealt with according to the law of the land and have been shown their right places.
It’s the duty of the government to secure the lives of members of the minority communities, grass root representatives and others. Security forces have already sent a clear message to the terrorists that they won’t be allowed to get away and if they indulge in innocent killings their fates will be sealed. The counter offensive against the terrorists is in full swing and the day is not far when the terrorism will be wiped out completely from Jammu and Kashmir.
