JAMMU, Sept 20: Special AIDS awareness campaign through Folk Media organized by Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan & Sangam Tru art Production at R.S. Pura & Bishnah Block of District Jammu concludes today after presenting its 345th Tuesday Series Musical Play "Nai Chetna" in close coordination with Jammu & Kashmir Aids Control Society, Govt. of J&K (UT). On Total 8 programs were presented at R.S. Pura & Bishnah Block. The programs were inaugurated by the Chief Guest Naresh Kumar, Panch Mehmood Pur, Bishnah & Ravi Kumar, Panch Ward No 6 Jinder Khurd, Bishnah respectively. The Special Guests were Rita Devi, Surjeet Singh, Kaka Ram, Shamsher Singh were present on the occasion. The Chief Guest speaking on the occasion said fever is usually the first sign of HIV for an HIV-positive person fever is at the top of the list-it's one of the most common initial signs of an HIV infection. The fever may be accompanied by other early HIV infection symptoms like fatigue, swollen lymph glands (or lymph nodes), and a sore throat. HIV is a virus that attacks the bodys immune System. If HIV is not treated, it can lead AIDS. There is currently no effective cure. Once people get HIV ,they have it for life. It is not spread through casual contact the people, such as hugging, sharing cutlery or shaking hands etc. The virus is spread by means of direct contact with an infected person's semen, vaginal fluid, blood or breast milk. HIV is most commonly spread through unprotected vaginal, anal and oral sex. It's also often spread by people who inject drugs (and who use the same needles of infected person).In addition to the awareness programmes & colorful cultural programs comprising of skits / dances / songs etc based on Various theme were also presented. The items like Musical Play "Nai Chetna" and songs were specially designed like, Jano Jano Aids Rog Jano, Maha Mari Mado Ayi Corona Jad Cha Ase Mita deni, Jan Jan Mara Corona Rog Jaan, HIV Vishanu Hai, Savdhan Savdhan Ae Manav Jati Savdhan and short play 'Nai Chetna' written by Dr. M.L. Dogra (Chairman BLSKS) were presented. The music was composed by M.C. Kotwal, Music Director of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan. BLSKS & STAP together presented 16 programs in different blocks of Akhnoor, Tanda , R.S. Pura & Bishnah of Jammu District . More than 5000 people witnesses the programe in highly appreciated. NAco Launched the National toll free Number 1097 Number to answer queries Related to HIV/AIDS.
Earlier Welcoming the dignitaries Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS explained the people living with HIV tend to be most infectious in the first few months after being infected, many are unaware of their status until the later stages. In the first few weeks after initial infection people may experience no symptoms or an influenza-like illness including fever, headache, rash or sore throat & also said Masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19, and should be combined with physical distancing and hand hygiene. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Clean your hands often, Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub, Maintain a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing, Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible, Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth, Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, contact Doctor nearby hospital.
