After Padhyatra in JK, AAP leaders run for ‘greener pastures’

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 20: After claiming to have held Padhyatras across Jammu and Kashmir on August 7, the Aam Aadmi Party leaders are literally running for “greener pastures amid dented image” of the party in the national arena.
Sources said whereas dozens of AAP leaders have already quit the party in the last around a month, the fissures developed soon after the party held on foot rallies across Jammu and Kashmir last month.
In a bid to “expose alleged anti youth policies of Bhartiya Janta Party”, the Aam Aadmi Party had organised Padyatras “in all Assembly segments” of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said given the “cold response to the Padhyatra followed by the falling image of the party in the national capital, many of the AAP leaders resolved that it was better to call it a day than face further embarrassment.”
Whereas the party, as per the sources, had been telling is cadres that former ministers from parties including National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party would be joining them, no such breakthrough could take place.
On the contrary, the AAP faces numerous multi crores scams in the Delhi government alone.
In its continued attacks on the Delhi government, the BJP has alleged that ‘sharab’ (liquor policy) and ‘shiksha’ (education) “scams” had become the “twin towers of corruption” in the Delhi city and that Arvind Kejriwal dispensation was gradually building more floors.
Reports also alleged that the Delhi government escalated the cost of building classrooms by multiple times and projected several school toilets as classrooms to justify the “bloated” bills.
Whereas the alleged liquor and school scams continue to hog headlines, the AAP which was struggling to make inroads into Jammu and Kashmir is facing new challenges in the wake of resignations.
Despite repeated attempts the AAP leaders were not available for comments.
