CBC organizes 2nd mini ICOP on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

REASI, Sept 26: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India today organized 2nd Mini Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) at Katra in Reasi district. The outreach programme was organized by CBC's Field Office, Udhampur at Government Higher Secondary School, Katra as part of the pre-publicity activities ahead of the eight day long multimedia exhibition which will be inaugurated on September 27, 2022.
The curtain raiser programme was organized for mass awareness about the upcoming activities scheduled by CBC during the Navratra Festival as well as to inform people about the vision and objectives of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by using informative standees, distributing printed awareness material and group discussions. Speakers while paying rich tributes to the unsung heroes of India's freedom struggle also highlighted different aspects of the Amrit Mahotsav campaign and urged people especially youth to be part of the activities to be organized during the 8-day multimedia exhibtion. An open quiz competition was also organized for the students on AKAM on the occasion and winners were felicitated at the conclusion of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Field Office Udhampur, Khursheed Yousuf informed that the CBC's 8-day long Multimedia Exhibition on AKAM will be inaugurated on September 27, 2022 at 11 AM which will include themes like Azadi Quest, 8 Years of Seva, Sushasan, Garib Kalyan and weekly TV series Swaraj. Apart from the exhibition, cultural troupes from various states including J&K will perform theme based cultural activities during the Navratra Festival.
Narender Sharma, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School, Katra appreciated the efforts of CBC, Udhampur and said that such programmes are instrumental in awareness & sensitization among of people about various initiatives of government,
In his address Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Field Office, Anantnag said that CBC has been a key partner in the outreach programmes during the Navratra Festival every year. He said that Private Registered Troupes (PRTs) of CBC from different parts of the country have been enthralling the locals and devotees through cultural programmes. He also gave a detailed overview of the functioning, structure and working of CBC, in the twin UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Others present during the programme were Gurnam Singh,TA FO, Udhampur, Rajesh Sharma, FPA, FO, Kathua and Vikram Uppal, FPA, FO Doda.
