After joining BJP Mankotia exposes AAP’s anti-Jammu attitude
9/29/2022 11:04:03 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 29: A two-time MLA from Udhampur and firebrand leader Balwant Singh Mankotia exposed the anti-Jammu attitude of the leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
While joining BJP at party headquarters in New Delhi, Mankotia disclosed that AAP leadership was annoyed with him for mobilizing the public to raise demand to declare a holiday on the birth anniversary of the last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh.
Mankotia said that he was feeling suffocated in the AAP because the party leadership was not allowing workers to pursue nationalist agenda. “AAP leadership opposed my decision to join celebrations of Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday. When we are celebrating the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh on September 23, AAP leadership expelled me from the party”, he said.
Mankotia, however, said that he was already inactive in the AAP due to the policies and programme of the party and had made up his mind to join BJP to pursue.
Mankotia said that he was supporting the demand to declare a holiday on September 23 because it was all due to Maharaja Hari Singh that Jammu and Kashmir is now an integral part of the Union of India.
He said that it was the result of the foresightedness of Maharaja Hari Singh that the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir became part and parcel of the Indian Union in 1947 despite pressure from different quarters.
“It is very unfortunate that AAP leadership is against Maharaja Hari Singh”, he said.
Notable the AAP on Friday expelled Balwant Singh Mankotia from the primary membership of the party. Mankotia was expelled on the charges of hobnobbing with other political parties and defaming the party.
In a letter, the AAP has terminated the membership of Mankotia on charges of indulging in anti-party activities.
In the letter, Mankotia has been charged with "engaging with other national and regional parties of J&K" and "not engaging or participating in any of the AAP political activities and not performing any task given by the party in the last three months."
He has also been accused of “influencing AAP volunteers to join other parties and offering them positions in other parties”.
