Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Oct 2: A monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers' Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) held at Udhampur under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma and District President Lekh Raj Parihar . The meeting was attended by the executive members of JKTJAC from all the eleven zones.
While speaking on the occasion Vinod Sharma demanded the resolution of long pending issues of the teachers appointed under ReT scheme which include:
Comprehensive transfer policy for teachers appointed under ReT scheme by including them in ATD as they have been working in the same schools for last more than 20 years and even high court and CAT have endorsed the transfer of ReTs with in the district,
Inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits by favour of department in the court, DPC of teachers to masters as same hasn't been done since 2014 leading to stagnation, Regularisation of left out ReTs who have completed their 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits, Conversion of left out RRETs to Teachers Grade II/III so that they may get their salaries, Release of more than 2 years salary and other arrears of teachers and masters which require permission of finance department, Conversion of Headteachers posts into non plan posts of masters, Old Pension Scheme in favour of NPS employees of the UT .
He aslo raised the issue of Rationalization of teachers where department is preparing the lists with PTR as 1:15 without considering the minimum number of teachers in the middle and primary schools. He said that they are not against the rationalisation of teachers but the process adopted by the department is not for the welfare of the poor children studying in the government schools and this will have a negative impact on the studies of these students. He appealed the Principal Secretary School Education to intervene personally in the matter and review the PTR ratio by providing minimum of two teachers in the Primary Schools and minimum of 5 teachers in the middle schools. He further said that if the department will not review the PTR in rationalisation process, they will be forced to come on the roads for the welfare of the students.
