DC inaugurates Amrit Sarovar at Jar Panchayat of Paddar

KISHTWAR, Oct 2: To commemorate the 153rd birth anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi and 118th Birth Anniversary of former PM of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri, District administration Kishtwar, in collaboration with Department of Rural Development Department & panchayat Raj and School Education Department today conducted designated activities at all the panchayats and educational institutions of the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav visited Paddar Sub-Division and inaugurated newly constructed Amrit Sarovar at Panchayat Jar, besides participating in the Special Gram Sabha proceedings organised by Rural Development Department there.
He was accompanied by BDC chairman Arpan Rana,SDM Paddar Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma and ACP, Zakir Hussain Wani,
ACD, Atul Dutt Sharma,Tehsildar Paddar Satish Rana,BDO Paddar Anjeel Singh,BMO Paddar Dr Anil Sharma besides field functionaries of various departments.
Local PRIs and a large number of locals attended the Gram Sabha proceedings.
On the occasion, Swachhata and Nasha Mukt Bharat pledges were also administered to the locals and Gram sabha members, besides other proceedings of the gram sabha were carried out in presence of Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner also listened to the grievances of people related to the streamlining of public delivery mechanisms and upgradation of local infrastructure.
The Deputy Commissioner assured them that their grievances will be resolved promptly in coordination with the concerned departments.
Speaking on the occasion, he asked the RDD functionaries to take the local PRIs on board while formulating the Gram Panchayat level Plans for panchayats so that available resources lying with the panchayats can be utilized effectively and development works can be proposed on rational basis in GPDP 2022-23 and further executed in encumbrance free manner.
The Deputy Commissioner also sensitised the Gram sabha about menace of drug abuse in society and appealed Youth to cooperate with administration in the eradication of the menace from society.
