Randhawa appeals people to get voter cards updated from concerned BLOs

JAMMU, Oct 5: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vikram Randhawa has appealed to the people to get their voter cards updated from the concerned Block Level Officers (BLOs) appointed in their areas. He also appealed to the masses to update their new voters also. To take firsthand knowledge about the ongoing vote campaign, Randhawa visited polling stations 16, 17, 18, 82, 83, 84, 91, 92 and 93 of Bahu and R S Pura Jammu South Assembly Segment. During his visit, he interacted with the BLOs and listen to the issues being faced by them while making corrections in the voter list of a family. The BLOs informed the visited Former Legislator that people are not cooperating with them to get their voter list updated. “People are making excuses when we visit their residence for updating the electoral roll on one or other pretext”, the BLOs told Randhawa. Randhawa appealed to the people to update their electoral rolls as it will benefit them in exercising their democratic rights in the forthcoming elections. “After completion of the electoral rolls, the election will be announced the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as announced by the Home Minister Amit Shah in today’s public rally in Baramulla”, Randhawa said, adding that voter card is also an identity proof, which is applicable for various purpose. “Not only for exercising democratic rights, the voter card is also of immense importance as it act as an identity proof of a person”, Randhawa said and also appealed the young voters, who are turning 18, to register themselves for exercising democratic rights in the forthcoming elections. He has also appreciated the efforts of the BLOs for putting in their 100 per cent efforts to get the voter cards of the people updated. Randhawa was accompanied by Arun Khosla, Bharat Bhushan Talwar, Ankush Dogra, Kunal Sharma, Arvind Gupta and many others.
