Jammu, Oct 5: Live for Others-Being Helpful Foundation in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Pollution Control Committee (JKPCC) Jammu participated in Sava Tawi Campaign at Vikram Chok, Tawi Ghat Jammu.
The campaign was supported by Jammu Municipal Corporation and Volunteers, Climate front Jammu, GGM Science College NSS UNIT 1, GCW Parade & SPMR & GCOE college participated in the campaigne.
Volunteers requested and motivated the devotees to immerse only Holy Sakh (Biodegradable Material) in the Holy River Tawi and submit the other used religious material to the volunteers for segregation and disposal in environment friendly manner.
Vivek Parihar (Director & C E O) said that the team members of the LFO-BH Foundation conducted awareness drive to aware people to be environment-friendly by not throwing plastic, earthen pots and other non-decomposable materials in the holy river. The team want to spread some awareness by means of this campaign. Also by not forgetting about the cleanliness of our city, they requested people not to throw any sort of plastic in the water bodies. As we see the water level of Tawi River is decreasing day by day and is getting polluted by non-decomposable waste thrown by people which is very harmful for aquatic life as well as for all the living organisms.
Mr. Vishal Singh (Director & C.O.O) & Mr. Abhinandan ( General Secretary) jointly said that the team requested everyone there to keep in mind that the plastic thrown in water bodies or even on the roads can be a major threat to the health of every living being.The volunteers of the organisation collected the puja material except the religious "Saakh" on the entry and didn't allowed people to throw any type of waste in the holy River Tawi.
General public appreciated and applauded the efforts of the volunteers and encouraged them to organize such campaigns on regular intervals.
The team members present on the occassion were, Jyoti, Vishavjeet, Shubam, Stuti, Navya, Samar, Dev, Abhishek Raina, Abhishek Gupta, Neha, Poonam, Rubik. Manvi and many more.
