Residents up in arms against LG admin

Vijaypur, Oct 9: The inhabitants of W. No. 11, Vijaypur, Shiv Nagar, Vijaypur, Kothey Vijaypur, Vijaypur camp under the leadership of Babal Gupta – President DCC Samba has organized a protest against the Government of Union Territory, J&K UT. The protestors were raising slogans against Union Government of India and Sh. Babal Gupta told that there is canal and a bridge has been constructed over the said canal. The canal and bridge has been damaged for the last 5-6 months, we have approached to the concerned authority of Municipal Committee, Vijaypur, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Samba and Deputy Commissioner Samba and submitted the written applications for construction of the bridge and canal but no action has been taken by the authorities in this context. Mr. Gupta told that they have also approached and apprised regarding the situation to Chief Engineer, Irrigation but it is regretted to say that no action has been taken into the matter. It is mentioned here that a vehicle was fall in the canal and passengers were got serious injuries. He further told that the people of W. No. 11, Vijaypur, Shiv Nagar, Vijaypur, Kothey Vijaypur, Vijaypur camp used to cover about 2-3 Km. Distance. He further told that Government of Union Territory has raising hallow slogan that the District Samba stand on 2nd position with regard to the development. Mr. Gupta urged the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor to issue the strict directions to the concerned authorities to solve the burning problems of inhabitants of Vijaypur and its adjoining periphery and ensure to repair/construct the bridge over the canal at an earliest for the feasibility of the general public. Other who were present in protest demonstration includes Raj Kumar, Maru Ram, Vikran Mahajan, Lakshey Vaid, Rocky Mahjan, Uttam Chand, Rashid Malik, Sunny. The protestors told that if the matter be not solved within month then they will be compelled to come on road and the Administration shall be responsible for all risks
