PDP banking on redundant subjects to misguide youth, divide people: Raman Suri
10/11/2022 10:43:57 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 11: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that the bewildered political leaders of People's Democratic Party (PDP) who have lost their relevance are now playing divisive politics based on region and religion to stay relevant. This way PDP, he added, is exposing itself, showing its true colours and displaying short-sightedness.
Raman Suri said that Mehbooba Mufti, during her tenure as Chief Minister, had appointed army of people from a particular region for her government's publicity and to sustain their salaries/remuneration, the tax payers' money was used. Today, when the party is out of power, she's accusing BJP of regional bias, which is ironical as in reality it is PDP that's trying to divide people on this basis.
He said, by talking about appointments of constitutional heads from one state or another, PDP is proving itself as a narrow-minded organisation which cannot think of the entire country as one. At a time when people from Jammu and Kashmir are working and doing business or studying across the length and breadth of the country, why can't people from other states or UTs descend here to serve the nation as per their own capacities.
Still strange is that when several politicians from Jammu and Kashmir chose to contest from other states of the country, then why is it pinching PDP when able and good administrators from other states are here to serve the nation. He advised PDP to come out of this narrow political discourse and think big, in terms of country's progress and prosperity.
He added that the demands of PDP like holding talks with Pakistan, resolving Kashmir issue, restoring Article 370 or returning erstwhile state's flag are nothing but mere rhetoric to confuse the masses and not let youth grow in a new atmosphere where all these subjects have been left redundant. Even Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his recent Kashmir visit, had categorically said that Centre can talk to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir but not any hostile nations, Raman Suri reminded PDP.
