Dr Karan Singh delivers lecture on Shri Bhagwad Gita at CSU

JAMMU, Oct 19: Dr. Karan Singh designated last king of Jammu and Kashmir state gave a lecture on Shrimad Bhavgad Gita in Central Sanskrit University where he was present as the chief guest of the programme. Maharaja Dr Karan Singh also presented his multi-volume book on Shrimad Bhagwat Gita which began with vedic 'Manglacharan' by Dr. Anay Mani Tripathi Assistant professor in Ved Department of Central Sanskrit University.
Former minister and Pradesh BJP vice President Sham Lal Sharma was also present as Guest of Honour. Dr Karan Singh lectured on Shrimad Bhagwat Gita and began his lecture with Shloka of shiv Manus Puja stotar. He enlightened the audience with his deep knowledge of the Sacred Book and displayed his scholarship on the Subject. He also shared his experiences of earlier days when he was the member of Parliament in Indira Gandhi Government. Local people and students and teachers of the campus were enthralled by his knowledge on the Subject. He also motivated the people to read Upnishads and held that there is a need to preserve the shlokas of Upanishads. He called Shrimad Bhagwat Gita a 'Sangarsh-Shastra' which teaches humans different kinds of struggle. He also related and compared the struggle with the present situation of the world.
Vice Chancellor Prof Shriniwas Verkhedi who also presided over the function also commented on the importance of the Sacred Book Shrimad Bhagwat Gita. Maharaj-Kumar and former Minister AjatShatru Singh and his Wife Ritu Singh were also present in the program. All the people who were present in the program appreciated the Royal family's down-to-earth behavior.
Director of the Campus Prof. Madan Mohan Jha presented the formal welcome address and showed his gratitude towards Maharaja Karan Singh on his arrival in the campus. In the program Prof. and director of the campus Madan Mohan Jha and Dr Yogendra Dixit, Assistant professor in Political Science were also honored for their receiving Maiden Shiksha Shrih Samman, which included seed money of rs 50000/- and a citation under Kulapati Puraskar Yojana . They were also awarded the token money of Rs 5100/- on behalf of the campus. A renowned Sahitya Scholar And Senior Prof. Satish Kumar Kapoor presented a formal vote of thanks in his famous literary style. Dr. Madan Kumar Jha conducted the Program. Technical support was given by Vishal Mahajan, Dr. Promod Shukl and Tirupati Bala. The program was attended by Prof. Shyam Dev Mishra, Dr. Kailash Chander Das, Dr Rishiraj, Dr. Rajkumar, Dr. Ram Dass Sangotra, Dr Gopal Verma, And Dr. Ghanshyan Mishra. Large number of Local people and Students of the campus were also present in the program.
