Jodhamal school celebrates Annual Sports Day

JAMMU, Oct 31: Jodhamal Public School celebrated its Annual Sports Day recently in school sports ground with great zeal and fervor. Ashok Sinha (AIG - CISF), was the chief guest and Nandan Kuthiala, was the Guest of Honour.
The series of events started with the March past by NCC cadets of Naval wing and Army Wings were commanded by Mukul Dev Verma and Gayatri Charak resp. These wings were have been trained by Kusum Abrol and Poonam Sarmal then followed by the ceremonial torch led by Aditya Abrol & the various National and State players of Jodhamal School. Nandita Mehta, Ciya Gupta and Aditya Abrol the Sport Captains welcomed the Chief Guest and the dignitaries and asked the players to play with the spirit of sportsmanship and to follow the discipline of the game.
The School Principal Dr. Deep Khare in his speech welcomed the guests, parents and all the spectators. Dr. Khare said that sports helps much more than its physical aspects, it builds character and develops team spirit. It is the day for the students to free themselves from the fetters of mundane classes to play and run.
Nearly 50 Races were held of various events race like Skatathon, 100 Meters Race, 200Meters Race, 4 x 100 Meters Relay Race, 800M Race, Sack Race, big ball race, Bucket ball race, uniform race, 1500 Meters and Obstacle Race. 300 medals were distributed among the winners. About 500 students from classes 1st to 12th participated in the sports day.
The events filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. The Rhythmic Artistic Yoga on soul - stirring music and the breath taking Aerobic performance remained as the main attraction of this mega event. The zealous parents gathered in large numbers and constantly applauded the participants of the field track displays.
Ashok Sinha said that he was impressed and overwhelmed to see Jodhamal Athletes and the vibrant displays put up by the students. He appreciated and emphasized the importance of sports and said that it was a pleasure to see how students of Jodhamal School had eluded the addiction of social media and were breaking away from the constraints of the four walls of the house hold and were actively nurturing their skills according to their potentials to build a harmonious spirit.
The Best Sports Trophy went to the Enterprise house while Challenge was Runners up. Athlete of the year award went to Aditya Abrol from Senior Wing. There was a tug of war competition between the parents of JMPS which actually stole the show.
The Meet culminated with the soothing and pious shlok by the talented choir group of JMPS, followed by the National Anthem. A vote of thanks was proposed by School Sports Captain Ciya Gupta and Nandita Mehta, who thanked the Chief Guest for sparing his valuable time to be there to inspire the student community.
Dr. Deep Khare appreciated Geetanjali, Gagandeep Singh, Pooja, Aruna, Vishal, Kamal Anand, Ritish Jamwal, Vinod, Romesh and Abhishek for their efforts. He also thanked Mohanl Lal, Zorawar and Narinder and other members of the admin staff.
