POONCH, Nov 14: Aijaz Jan, former MLA and Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir Youth National Conference (JKYNC) has demanded upgradation of roads, adequate health facilities and employment package for the people of Pirpanjal region.
He raised these demands after conducting an extensive tour of snow bound areas of Poonch Mandi along with Panchs and Sarpanchs to take stock of people’s issues in view of the recent snowfall in these areas. The areas covered during the tour included several Panchayats namely Arai, Dunnu Gam, Baila, Sawijan, Bedar, Loran, Barachar, Chikriban, Barachar, Dalan, Mandi, Pleara and Rajpura.
The Youth National Conference leader interacted with the people in these areas by going from door to door and listening to their woes. The people complained that the Jammu and Kashmir Administration was not paying heed to their pressing issues especially towards the winter related issues. They said that the link roads continue to be in dilapidated condition while the connectivity becomes the first casualty after snowfall as a result of which the people have to suffer miserably on all counts.
Jan after giving them a patient hearing assured to take up their issues with the authorities in the Administration and get these addressed at the earliest.
The Youth NC leader said that he was dismayed to see the administration napping despite the winter having set in with heavy snowfall in the areas. He said that he found during his tour that there is an urgent need to address certain concerns on priority and on war footing. He demanded a motorable bridge over Nallah Panchayat Malkan Arai, a Health Centre for Arai Malkan, black topping and upgradation of road upto Keeran Haveli Arai and black topping and upgrading of road from Kalsan to Tragar Malkan Arai.
The former Legislator also demanded black toping/ upgradation of general road from Mohalla Thakran via Ziarat Hadayat Shah Gazi Peera Arai, construction of road up to famous destination Jabi Toti via Ziarat Dogi Bhagsar in Panchayat Baila; construction of link Road Mohalla Mir to Upper Dunnugam and Batalkot To Richa Wali; construction of Gorawand to Narzabli Wantantrya road; construction of Main Road to Duba Rajpura and last but not the least construction of road from Gali to Rtr and Gagrian.
Ajaz Jan sought adequate health and medical facilities in view of the harsh winter ahead including appointment of doctors and paramedics. He said that youth of the areas included in tour are suffering badly due to unemployment and he demands a special job package to address growing unemployment in Pir Panjal as well as in Chenab Valley region.
