NHPC organises painting competition on Energy Conservation

JAMMU, Nov 14: NHPC Regional Office, Jammu organised a State/UT Level painting competition for UT of Jammu and Kashmir on "Energy Conservation" on 14th November, 2022 at Jammu. This competition is being organized since the past few years at the behest of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India to promote the message of energy conservation awareness at School, State/UT and National Level amongst children. The painting competition is an important part of the campaign for Energy Conservation under which students across India in 02 groups - "Group A" Class V to VII & "Group B" - Class VIII to X participated. The competition commenced with shortlisting the paintings at the school level and out of the selected paintings sent by the schools, 50-50 total 100 children of both the groups were invited to participate in the State/UT level competition. The objective of the competition is to spread awareness about energy conservation.
The event was conducted at the premises of NHPC Regional Office, Jammu at Narwal where 100 (50 from Group A and 50 from Group B) students from different schools throughout UT of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the painting competition, in which 26 participants today won the prizes. In this competition first, second, third and 10 consolation prizes were given to students of each group.
Group A - First Prize - Saanvi Sharma, Class 6th, Heritage School, Sainik Colony, Jammu
Second Prize - Aayat Banday, Class 7th, KC,Public School, Akhnoor
Third Prize - Surobhi Saha, Class 7th, APS Ratnuchak,
First Prize in Group B - Raghav Toor, Class-9th, J&K Police Public School
Second Prize - Simran Kumari, Class 10th, Mahavir International School,
Third Prize - Sachika Gupta, Class 10th, DPS, Residency School.
The evaluation was done by a five-member jury consisting of eminent personalities in the field of Art and Culture. Participation Certificates and Certificates of Merit along with Prize money was presented to these winning participants.
On this occasion, Executive Director, NHPC RO, Jammu Deepak Saigal, while congratulating all the winning participants in his message said that Children can be the most efficacious brand ambassadors for spreading the message on energy conservation and these painting competitions held, shall go a long way in this mission. We all have to participate in this divine work and spread the message of energy conservation to as many people as possible.
SK Jena, General Manager (Finance) and Sanaka Luha, General Manager (Civil) presented the certificates and prize money to the participants.
On this occasion Rajnish Kumar Gunjan, DGM (Finance), Mukesh Gupta, GSM (Law), senior officers and staff of NHPC Ltd along with teachers and parents from various schools were also present.
