Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 29: A senior leader of the National Conference and former minister has come under the scanner for allegedly grabbing money from unemployed youth by falsely promising them government jobs.
A youth duo from Tral area of south Kashmir have claimed that they had paid around four lakhs to the close aide of the NC leader, on the pretext that they would be given jobs.
The man, who is accused of grabbing money, had claimed to be the Personal Assistant (PA) of the NC leader. The sources said the complaint has also come to the notice of the National Conference head office at Nawe Sabha in Srinagar.
As per the telephonic conversation that was viral on social media, the poor youth had transferred money into the bank accounts of the “PA Sahab”, who is believed to be hailing from Budgam district and is seen as close to the NC leader.
The sources said the money was taken on the pretext of giving jobs to the youth in Srinagar Municipal Corporation and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
“I first paid Rs two lakh and eighty thousand and one lakh two thousand were paid by my friend into account of Hilal,” the complainant said.
The sources said as the jobs were never granted, the two youth reached the National Conference head office to file a complaint to get back money.
The sources said as the complaint reached the NC office, the accused “PA” returned seventy thousand rupees to the victims.
“But he is yet to pay back around three lakhs and is only buying time on one pretext or the other,” the complainants said.
The sources said the accused has been a close aide of the NC leader and his son and that the “PA” was also seen with them at various events held by the party.
Despite repeated attempts the NC leaders or the accused couldn’t be contacted for comments.
