Director SHD encourages participants to avail Govt schemes

JAMMU, Dec 10: Director Sheep Husbandry, Jammu, Krishan Lal today conducted a day long tour of District Kathua under the programme “JAN ABHIYAN” and ASCAD. An awareness camp for sheep and goat breeders was held at Punjwari in Kathua block and Sallan in Dinga Amb block Kathua. More than 80 breeders participated in the awareness camps. Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu interacted with Sheep & Goat breeders of the areas and informed the public and PRIs regarding the schemes launched by the Department for the welfare of the people. He exhorted upon the people to come forward to avail the benefits of the employment generating schemes of the department launched by the Government. He asked officers for constitution of FPOs, Livestock insurance under NLM and KCC and implementation of various schemes to double the farmer’s income. He discussed with the breeders for implementation of new technologies such as Artificial Insemination, synchronization of estrus and embryo transfer in the field and value addition of the products and also stressed upon the machine shearing. Various problems put forth by the breeders were redressed on spot by the Director who gave them a patient hearing and also assured them that other issues will also be redressed as per laid down norms in a time bound manner. Those who attended included Dr. Surinder Gupta, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Kathua besides officers and officials of the Department.
