Barring Gulmarg, Pahalgam night temperature improves in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 11: Barring Gulmarg and Pahalgam night temperature improves all across the Kashmir valley several notches as the Meteorological Department forecast of mainly dry weather over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
The day temperature witnessed a fall after many segments including upper reaches of Kashmir valley received rain and snow fall on Saturday.
Kashmir weather, an independent weather observer, Faizan Arif forecast of dry weather is expected for the next 10-15 days in the entire Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Due to a feeble Western Disturbance, generally cloudy weather is expected on December 14, he said and added that the day temperatures are likely to improve and slight fall is expected in minimum temperatures during the next 3 days.
Tourist hot spot of Pahalgam in south Kashmir had a low of minus 5.0 degree Celsius against 1.2 degree Celsius recorded the previous night which was minus 1.8 degree Celsius below normal for this resort during the period.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 4.5 degree Celsius on Sunday against minus 2.5 degree Celsius which was minus 0.8 degree Celsius below normal for the famous ski resort.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, witnessed a low of 3.5 degree Celsius on Sunday against the minus 0.6 degree Celsius recorded the previous night which was 4.1 degree Celsius above normal for this time of the year.
The maximum temperature in Srinagar was recorded below minus 3.4 degree Celsius on Sunday against the normal 10.2 degree Celsius during this time of the season.
Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway had a low of 2.6 degree Celsius, Kukernag 1.3 degree Celsius and frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara recorded a low of 1.3 degree Celsius on Sunday, the MeT office said.
