Dy mayor visits Govt Medical College Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 12: Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria visited the Government Medical College Jammu (GMCJ) on Thursday. The Deputy Mayor Jammu was invited by the public to address their concerns and demands. During his visit, he interacted with the faculty, nursing staff, students, and other personnel at the hospital. He also visited the various departments of the institution and was briefed about the working of the hospital.
He was accompanied by the Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Raj Kumar Tarkhan and Deputy Superintendent Bharat Bhushan and other medical staff of GMC. Deputy Mayor Jammu said that it was his first visit to the college and he was impressed with the facilities and services being provided to the patients. He lauded the efforts of the medical staff and the students for their hard work and dedication. He also appreciated the efforts of the faculty and staff in providing quality healthcare services to the patients. Deputy Mayor Jammu said that he will ensure that the college receives all the necessary facilities and resources to ensure that it provides the best medical care to the people of Jammu.
He further assured the college authorities of his full support in all their endeavors. Deputy Mayor also listended the problems of the hospital administration wherein the administration requested the Jammu Municipal Corporation to look after the cleanliness outside the GMC premises itself as they were short of sanitation workers. Billawaria assured him that sanitation drive would be conducted twice a month in the outer premises of Jammu Medical College Hospital, so that this would remain completely clean. Rajkumar Tarkhan, Chairman, Health and Sanitation of the Jammu Municipal Corporation was also present with the Deputy Mayor and he also assured the matter of the sanitation drive twice a month in the hospital premises. The Deputy Mayor also told the administration that the Jammu Municipal Corporation will make arrangements for the stay of the patients who come without any attendant and recover after treatment in their shelter home so that other patients in the hospital can get proper beds. The Deputy Mayor Jammu also assured that he will work with the administration to ensure that the public gets the best possible service from the GMCJ. During his visit, Private ambulance drivers also met with Deputy Mayor Baldev Singh Billawaria and apprised him about their parking problem. He requested the Deputy Mayor that the way paid parking has been arranged along the Yellow Line in the markets. Similarly, the Jammu Municipal Corporation should make arrangements for paid parking of Yellow Line on the roads adjacent to GMC Hospital for them so that they do not have any problem in parking their ambulance and the traffic police who harass them for parking an ambulance, can also get rid of that problem. Deputy Mayor assured that this problem will be solved soon.
