12/12/2022 11:30:45 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Dec 12: The Srinagar-Ladakh and the Mughal road were thrown open for traffic on Monday evening after remaining closed for four days due to snowfall, officials said. One way traffic on the historical Mughal road, connecting Shopian district in south Kashmir to Poonch and Rajouri district of Jammu, was restored this evening, a traffic official said. He said the traffic was allowed to play from Poonch to Srinagar after accumulated snow on the road was cleared with the sophisticated machines.
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road connecting Ladakh which was also shut for traffic since Friday following snowfall at the Zojila Pass was also made traffic worthy this evening. However, no traffic from either side was allowed to ply today.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has pressed into service men and machines to clear the accumulated snow from the highway.
