Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 12: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta slammed Mehbooba for misleading people on J&K Government's decision on providing unique alpha-numeric ID to every household in the Union Territory.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader maintained that there is a section of Kashmiri leadership which never missed a chance to oppose the decisions taken by the government. He said that Mehbooba has sparked the row over a non-issue just to cause ripples in the society to instigate people against the government. He said that the aforesaid move of government is mainly to have a precise and verified database of the people to streamline the delivery of benefits under various public welfare schemes but the way Mehbooba is misleading the people is not at all justified and people should not pay heed to her concocted narratives. He however said that the aforesaid move of the government will also help in enhancing the internal security which is a good step indeed in bringing peace and prosperity in J&K.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said that there is a segment in Kashmiri leadership in J&K which is habitual of raising fingers on the working of government despite the fact that every step which the government has taken in the past has proved benevolent for the people of J&K especially Kashmir as on record the common man in the Valley is coming out in full support of government for the steps it has taken in carrying out development, crushing the terrorism and restoring peace and normalcy.
Kavinder said that the unique alpha-numeric ID to every household in J&K is not at all a bad idea because it will also help the government to envisage the centrally sponsored schemes in a more focused manner looking into the sample size, which is likely to become more precise after this activity.
