PM’s bold decision helps J&K

The abrogation of Article 370 has led to the improvement in the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorism related incidents in J&K were 417 in 2018 which came down to 229 in 2021, while the number of terrorists operating in Kashmir has been reduced to below 100.
During the past three years the scenario in J&K has changed completely, the separatists and separatism have vanished. The ones who used to call for shutdowns and orchestrate street protests have been shown their right place. Many have been put behind bars and the ones who are out have given up their activities. They have accepted the change in J&K’s status-quo and have abandoned separatists and their agenda.
The recruitment of local youth in the terrorist ranks has dropped down to zero as the youth are showing no inclination towards joining the terror groups. They have understood that Pakistan has been pushing them towards death during the past three decades. They have started choosing life over death.
During the past three years, the Centre has opened up a plethora of opportunities for the people, especially youngsters. They have been provided with platforms to showcase their talents and opportunities to build their careers.
Multiple steps taken by the Centre have helped J&K move towards peace after 30 long years of Pakistan sponsored turmoil. Terrorism-related incidents witnessing almost a 50 per cent decline in three years are ample proof of the fact that J&K has been much better without its special status which had sown the seeds of discord and was responsible for separatism and sedition becoming a part of J&K’s culture.
Jammu and Kashmir witnessing unprecedented development and huge participation of youth in the initiatives taken by the Centre after August 5, 2019, has proven beyond doubt that the decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led dispensation to scrap the Article 370 has put the common man in the Union Territory on the path of peace, prosperity and development.
Shutdowns, street protests and stone pelting in Kashmir have become a history and the terrorism is on its last legs. It’s after a longtime that people are heaving a sigh of relief and are coming out from the shadow of fear and guns.
